Whereas, the University Athletic Committee (UAC) was created to review and provide advice on broad policy issues relating to intercollegiate athletics; and

Whereas, one specific charge to UAC is to provide advice to the Provost on matters related to academic progress of athletes, the admission policy for athletes, academic advising of athletes, and relations with academic departments and faculty in general; and

Whereas, the Vice-Provost for Academic Affairs has responsibility for all of the academic programs that interface with the academic life of student athletes and therefore, should be involved in discussions that the UAC has concerning academic issues;

Therefore Let It Be Resolved, That the membership of the University Athletic Committee should be changed to add the Vice-Provost for Academic Affairs as an ex officio member.
