Virginia Tech Credits Required for the Awarding of a Degree

WHEREAS, the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools states that all schools receiving accreditation must require that all degree recipients have earned at least one-fourth of their degree credit at the degree granting institution, and

WHEREAS, Virginia Tech does not now have in place, any explicit requirement stipulating that a minimum of one-fourth of the credit required for completion of a degree must be earned at Virginia Tech,

THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that all students earning degrees from Virginia Tech must have earned a minimum of one-fourth of the credit required for their respective degrees from this institution, effective for students completing their degree requirements Spring 1998.
