Whereas, bylaws are an inherently internal function of any governing body or group; and,

Whereas, the Virginia Tech Staff Senate Bylaws are currently out of step with the University Council's Bylaws amendment process; and

Whereas, the Virginia Tech Staff Senate seeks to remediate this problem; and,

Whereas, the Virginia Tech Staff Senate proposes to amend its Bylaws to conform with those of the University Council.

Therefore Let It Be Resolved, that the Virginia Tech Staff Senate be authorized to amend its bylaws as follows:

Article VII - Amendments
Notice of any proposal to amend the Bylaws shall be given in the agenda. An affirmative vote of the majority of the Senators is required for adoption.
